Interview with Blakely Bennett

MyBodyTrilogy

Thank you so much for having me on your site.  I love your questions! J

How long have you been writing?  On and off for years but as a published author, for over a year now.

You’ve written the My Body Trilogy. In what order should they be read?  My Body-His, My Body-His (Marcello) and then My Body-Mine, but each have been written as standalones as well. For those who don’t care for dark erotic suspense, they can skip to My Body-Mine which is still suspenseful but more of a romance.

What is the most difficult thing about being an author?  Balancing social media and writing and sometimes reading bad reviews. Editing can be a challenge as well.

What’s the best part of being an author?  Writing, seeing my books in print and I do love connecting with my readers. That never gets old!

What induced you to write BDSM genre? Not Fifty Shades of Grey. LOL! I wrote the first two books of my trilogy years before that came out. Honestly, I thought it was an interesting way to explore the power dynamics in a relationship and explore the conflict and the internal struggle between what you think should turn you on and what actually does.

Please give us three words that best describe Luke? Dominant, secretive, and damaged.

And Jane, please? Lonely, lost and vulnerable. In the beginning, anyway, but most certainly not in the end.

How did these characters come about? This is a question that I’m often asked and I don’t really have a really good answer for you. Jane kept metaphorically poking at me to tell her story, so I did.

What is your inspiration?  It is the love of reading and writing. I bask in getting lost in a juicy story I can’t put down and I’m inspired to create that experience for others.

I’ve been checking out your website and thought I read that you may have more of Jane in the works, am I correct? I might write a prequel but that would be about Luke and Janice. One never knows though. I have been asked by fans to write a prequel about Chase, too.

Do you have plans for any books outside this genre? (Again I thought I read you were.) Most definitely. My husband and I are gearing up to soon publish a contemporary romance called The Demarcation of Jack. I’ve started my next series which is erotic romance this time. I’m about 2/3 done with Stuck In-Between which is the first book of the Bound By Your Love series.

What do you do when you are not writing? Too much social media! LOL! We spend time with family and friends, love watching movies and a couple of TV shows, reading, going to the lake and laying in the sun when it’s warm enough. I have to say I miss reading. I don’t do it nearly as much now that I’m writing, editing and online so much.
